Family: Alex's parents died 2 years ago in a house fire, but he does have a sister, Ashlyn, who is 17. She lived in Huston, Texas with a family friend while he was overseas. The outbreak happened and he lost contact with her, so he is trying to find her. Alex also had a girlfriend named Kelly, but she died soon after all hell broke loose.
How Many Walkers Have They Killed?: Too many to count.
How Many People Have They Killed?: 48
Why?: 46 of his kills were from the war in Afghanistan. The other two were in self defense. One night he was settling down for camp and two men had come out of the shadows. Both were carrying handguns, of which were pointed at him. They told him to give them his food and water, but one of them made the mistake of coming too close. In a flash, Alex disarmed him and used the weapon to shoot the one in the head as he also did to the other. Ever since then he has been more careful of where he stays.
History: Alex was born to a Texas farmer family in the rural area around Austin, Texas. His childhood was pretty normal as a farm boy, and he got decent grades in school. His father taught him how to do everything when it came to the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. When it came to hunting, it taught him to track and shoot. With fishing, it taught him patience and dedication. He could never repay him for that. He never really knew what he wanted to do with his life until a friend of his almost got hit by a car when they were crossing the street. Alex quickly shoved him out of the way but was clipped by the car. He wasn't seriously hurt but from that moment he knew he wanted to help people. He spent several years trying to figure out what he wanted to do with that desire. Then it hit him: Army Medic. He could help others while helping his country.. He went through basic training and a few tours in Afghanistan. During his first tour he was on a routine sweep of Al Hayy with his squad when they were ambushed. One guy was hit and the others made it to safety. The guy was bleeding out in the middle of the street, and something just felt wrong to Alex. He broke cover and ran towards him. Bullets started flying and he laid down suppressive fire and got to him. He quickly put him over his shoulder, and sprinted to were the others were. Amazingly he didn't get shot, so he decided to always, no matter what, to never leave someone behind. While he was away his parents had died in a house fire, he got to come back for a few weeks to take care of his sister Ashlyn who was 15 at the time. Then he sent her to a family friend in Huston, and went back to the war. His second tour was a little more relaxed, but he still had to preform his medical duties every once and a while.
After he came back to America for the last time, the outbreak happened. The first thing Alex thought was: Ashlyn! He had to get to her to keep her safe. He tried to get out by car but all the streets were crammed. He knew this was going to be bad. He went back to his house and back the essential survival supplies, which included his M4A1 and Glock. Alex ended up hiking to Huston. I took him around a week to get there, and it would have been quicker but he ran into complications, mostly Walkers. When he got there he went to the house Ashlyn was staying at, she wasn't there. He frantically searched and searched for her but couldn't find her. He stopped and thought things through, and now has been sweeping the entire city of Huston for her. Over the past six months, he has barely made a dent in the city but he will not give up on sister...she is all he has left.
Alex has a southern draw, uses slang, and prefers to be called Weston. He was never comfortable being called Alex. The only person he ever allowed to call him Alex was Kelly. He doesn't ever talk about her anymore, because the only person he would was Ashlyn.

I smiled and said a silent prayer of thanks to my mother. FINALLY!!! A brother. There is WAAYYY to much estrogen in the Athena cabin. If I could, I would have grown a uterus by now. Thank the gods that can't happen......right? "Yah your in the right place alright." I said with excitement, but it tensed up my abdomen and I winced. I smiled through the annoying, now persistent pain of getting too excited. "My name is Derin, Derin Faye. It's nice to meet you brother." I said and held out my hand. I studied him for a moment. Hmmm, black hair. Odd for an Athena kid, but he does have our bold grey eyes. That reminds me, where are Alyssa and Quintin? They would probably like to meet him. "So how old are you?" I asked. Might as well get to know him.
